News 2005

New Arrivals!

A few weeks ago we went to visit the Lewis family, Rhydyfelin Stud. We saw some lovely ponies and came away with two new additions to our stud. A six year old broodmare, Rhydyfelin Silver Leaf, who is out of Colne Lavender and by Aros Music Man and a cream filly foal, Rhydyfelin Serch, who is out of Rhydyfelin Saros who is by Gredington Calon Lan and out of Rhydyfelin Sidan, her sire is Rhydyfelin Silk Rocket who is By Blackhill Picalo.

 Silk Leaf and Serch

Islyn Hyder Supreme at Maelor NCPA Foal Show

Our first foal show of the year, and setting off at six in the morning when it was dark and cold wasn't so easy!! But we had a great day, Hyder won her class and was champion Section A, B C or D foal and went on to be Supreme foal of the show. So by the end of the day our early morning struggle was completely forgotten - until next time!

Stud Visit

On the 4th of September the North Western Association payed us a visit to have a look around the ponies. They arrived the farm in true style, all 40 of them pilled into the back of our lorry as our roads were to narrow for a bus. Luckily it was a good day for seeing ponies and the mares and foals gave a good show, amazed at seeing 40 people in one field! And after seeing the youngstock and stallions they had a bite to eat before going on to visit other studs. We had an enjoyable day showing them around the ponies and we hope they had an entertaining day. We've been promised a photo of them all in the back of the lorry, so watch this space......!!!!

And as promised here it is...!!

HOYS 2005

Well done to Islyn Annwylyd, ridden section B for qualifying for HOYS again this year at The Royal Cornwall.

Bryndansi Melog turns 21!

Our foundation mare, Melog, celebrates her 21st birthday this year. She has had great success in the show ring winning WPCS medals and championships. We saw her at the Bryndansi stud, but she was already sold, but we couldn't forget her and after tracking her down through the WPCS we finally bought her. She has been a great asset to us giving us some lovely foals, including Modlan and Muffin, and through them Ania, Asbri etc. Her progeny are continuing her winning ways with Modlan, Muffin, Ania, Asbri and one of her daughters Islyn Melodi being Supreme youngstock champion at the National Show in Sweden. She still behaves as a three year old and is a great character and we look forward to many more happy years in her company.

Welcome Home Gwawr!

Last Tuesday, on the 10th of May, we were very pleased to welcome Islyn Gwawr back home. She returns to us after a great season under saddle with Julie Templeton, during which she qualified for The Horse of the Year Show.
